Unclaimed deceased estate?

I recently had an enquiry to find missing money.
The story is as follows...20 years ago, a single parent passed away, leaving behind two young teenagers. There were no other benefactors.
A solicitor was engaged to sell the home. It got sold for $200k. Each child received a cheque for only $7000.
In theory, even after solicitor expenses etc, there was still an awful lot of money left from the sale of the house, and that money should rightfully go to the two children.
Here at Australian Revenue Search, we searched to find that money.

Nothing! Nada!
We found absolutely nothing left owing to the deceased or either child (now adults) in the government coffers.
This does not necessarily mean that there is no unclaimed money owing.
What it does mean, is that it is likely there was no unclaimed money handed over to the government.
Now in Australia, buisness’ are required by law, to hand over any unclaimed funds to The Cheif Commissioner Revenue NSW (not Fair Trading) - no matter the amount. There are large fines for not doing so.
So unfortunately, Australian Revenue Search were able to assist in this case.
