Conscious Descent –

Myth as Guidance

It started with a call to adventure.

He was the hero of the Trojan War.

She was goddess of Heaven and Earth.

Because of their hubris, both were ill prepared and naïve.

Both experienced significant trials, betrayals, were brought to their knees, and almost lost their lives.

But these two myths speak of two different calls.

They are calls which require different responses.

The Odyssey is a call to a bigger life , an Initiation.

Inanna’s Descent is a call to a deeper life, an Integration.

The Odyssean Journey speaks to how we stand up in the face of ‘everything’.

Inanna’s Descent challenges where we stand in the face of ‘nothing’.

Together we will unpack both myths and through experiential inquiry find their relevance to our own stories ….and the guidance they offer us.
